Winner of the Logo Design Contest is Trey Murphy

 In Current News

Congratulations to Trey Murphy and his winning Logo Design for the new Shelby County business Siluria Brewing.

The Shelby County Arts Council launched a logo contest for the new start up company in Alabaster name the Siluria Brewing Company. SBC owner Danny Sample and Exec, Director Bruce Andrews met at a South Shelby Chamber of Commerce mixer and began to exchange ideas about how to get the message out. While Danny obviously has a passion for his craft (beer making) he also has a love for the arts. Both gentlemen embraced the idea of “keeping it local” whenever possible. Whether it’s a new tap room, restaurant or an art gallery…the value of being a part of the surrounding community cannot be overstated. As a result of the meeting, the Shelby County Arts Council put out a call for art back in December 2016 inviting local artists to submit their logo ideas. The winner was picked by a panel from the Arts Council in cooperation with a panel from the Siluria Brewing Company owners.

There were many great entries, but one stood out as a great choice for the new company.

The Arts Council and Siluria Brewing Company would like to congratulate Graphic Artist Trey Murphy on being selected as their winner. Trey was awarded $250. In prize money but more importantly, we believe his logo will be widely distributed as the central brand image of this new company. The Arts Council hopes that this will be encouragement to Trey as an artist and enrich his professional portfolio.  Danny Sample of SBC has already met with Trey and discussed the use of the logo and possible future related work. We applaud Danny for “keeping it local” and supporting the arts (Bruce Andrews).
