The Belgium Blues Connection Jam Session
The Black Box Theater presents The Belgium Blues Connection Jam Session
Join us at the Shelby County Arts Council on Thursday, September 22nd for a very special Belgium Blues session featuring brothers Marc and Luc Borms. These two have dedicated their lives to all things Blues and sharing their passion for music all over Europe. They even traveled across the Atlantic to visit and document the Mississippi Delta culture eventually turning their work in to a book.
Marc Borms has been a blues and gospel piano player for over 30 years and has spent the last 15 years touring with gospel singer Lea Gilmore. He is also a historian in African-American culture and music as well as a photographer and graphic designer. Luc Borms has been playing harp for more than 35 years in different European blues bands and is also founder and president of a non-profit organization (DOUBLE DEAL vzw) that promotes the blues-harmonica in Europe. Together they are Catfish and Cotton. Now they bring their unique sound to the Black Box Theater for a special performance. Blues fans will not want to miss this performance. This performance is also unique because it will be live streamed by Video Visions so that blues fans all over the world can enjoy it!
Fans will be able to see Catfish and Cotton play and also give their insight into Blues music and culture. They will also be joined by regional Blues musicians such as Bruce Andrews and George Dudley. Tickets to this event are only $5, the event will be from 7pm-10pm on September 22nd.
