Sean of the South
We are looking forward to having Sean Dietrich, aka Sean of the South, and his wife Jaime in Columbiana, Alabama the weekend of February 23, 2018.
He is a columnist, and novelist, known for his commentary on life in the American South. His work has appeared in Southern Living, The Tallahassee Democrat, Good Grit, South Magazine, Yellowhammer News, the Bitter Southerner, Thom Magazine, The Mobile Press Register, and he has authored seven books. .
Sean first performed at the Shelby County Arts Council’s Black Box Theater in August of 2017. Selling out two performances, he entertained the crowds with stories and songs.
From reading his books, I would describe him as an observer. A real listener. Someone who doesn’t take himself too seriously, but certainly takes his fellow man seriously. Through his words, smattered with Southern phrases, he introduces his reader to “real folks”. Folks who have had it rough, folks who have influenced his life. Folks that we all can identify with in some way.
We looking forward to hearing more Stories and Songs from Sean at the Celebration of the Arts Luncheon (11am) and hearing him pay tribute to Ray Charles through music on Saturday night.
He now hosts a Saturday radio show, available by podcast. http://seandietrich.com/podcast/
