*Please note, each scholarship request form must be approved by the Scholarship Committee before receiving funding. Filling out the form does not guarantee scholarship funding.*
The Shelby County Arts Council is a non-profit 501(c)-3 arts organization. We are happy to offer this opportunity to students seeking financial assistance. Scholarships (unless otherwise approved by the Scholarship Committee) are for a 3 month period for music or art lessons OR for a one time workshop or camp. As a small arts organization, the scholarship classes that we offer at no cost are balanced by public support, grants and student tuition. Because of the limited number of scholarships available, we ask that you answer a few questions to be considered for the scholarship.
In order to maintain the scholarship eligibility during the 3 month time period students must abide by the following:
-Students must provide their own transportation to and from lessons.
-If any student misses more than 3 lessons in a row, the scholarship will be cancelled (unless due to documented illness, an emergency, or if they planned to be absent and gave the instructor sufficient notice).
-Students must notify the office and let the instructor know if they know they will be absent from a lesson.
*Please note that because of funding limitations, there may be a cap to how much funding each student can receive per year.*
