SCAC Ribbon Cutting and Sneak Peek 9/20/19

In Current News, SCAC At Old Mill Square

On Friday, September 20th 200+ folks gathered in the amphitheater outside of the new Shelby County Arts Center to celebrate the ribbon cutting and sneak peek of the open portions of our beautiful new facility! City leaders spoke prior to the ribbon cutting ceremony the everyone gathered inside for a reception and to preview the Black Box Theater, the Ebsco Fine Art Gallery and other completed amenities. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this special day and thank you to Masters General Store of Columbiana for the delicious treats donated to our reception!

Construction on the remainder of the facility is currently on-going. Classroom studios are nearing completion and we are projecting to resume classes in November.  We are currently expanding the classes we currently offer with a great roster of talented teaching artists as well as add new art mediums (such as the metal arts foundry coming soon). There is something for a variety of interests in our studios. We offer weekly classes as well as weekend workshops to fit into your busy schedule. Please browse the “Tickets & Classes” tab for a full selection of our class offerings.

The Ebsco Fine Art Gallery currently features Root, Branch & STAR-recent works by Douglas Baulos. The public is welcome to see this exhibit during Black Box Theater performances in October or by arranging an appointment. Please call 205-669-0044 for more information.
