Pottery: Hand Building-Evening Pottery Classes with Nita Terrell

Class info:
This class will focus on key hand-building techniques including pinch pots, coil, and slab construction, plus other techniques. Instructor provides individual guidance with special attention to newcomers. Experienced potters may pursue independent projects. Learn new skills or develop and improve skills hand building techniques in a fun and relaxing environment. Personal training time is plentiful due to our small class size (limit to 5 students minimum of 2)
Fees and Supplies: Class price covers class instruction, open studio privileges, use of studio equipment and some studio tools.
The studio fires Cone 6 clay and glazes for class. Purchase clay prior to class. Supplies are not included in class fee. Purchase clay prior to class. It is recommended to buy only two Amaco Potter Choice cone 6 glazes to start. We will talk about glazes so you can wait on it if you like. Supplies are available locally through ALABAMA ART SUPPLY (Birmingham), Forstall Art Center (Birmingham) and Falcon Art Supply (Montevallo). Tool kits available online from Amazon, Michael’s, Clay-King, Big Ceramics, and Blick Art Materials.
-We will throw on the wheel for the first class so bring an old towel or wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and wear closed toe shoes.

*An annual $25 registration fee is required to enroll in monthly classes and private lessons. This fee is due one time per calendar year. The annual registration fee is waived for weekend workshops and Artist level members.*
