Fees and Supplies: Class price covers class instruction, open studio privileges, use of studio equipment and some studio tools. The studio fires Cone 6 clay and glazes for class. Purchase clay prior to class. Supplies are not included in class fee. It is recommended to buy only two Amaco Potter Choice Cone 6 glazes to start. We will talk about glazes so you can wait on it if you like. Supplies are available
locally through ALABAMA ART SUPPLY (Birmingham), Forstall Art Center (Birmingham) and Falcon Art Supply (Montevallo-only has clay). Tool kits available online from Amazon, Michael’s, Clay-King, Big Ceramics, and Blick Art Materials.

-On the first night of the class, you will start working with your clay, so bring an old towel or wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty and wear closed toe shoes.

*Special Note There is a difference in Cone 06 and Cone 6 so please be sure to get clay and glazes that fire to Cone 6. *

-25 lb. of clay. Recommend brands all these fire to cone 6
o Amaco Buff Stoneware 46
o Alligator Mc 212 Black pepper
o Mc 210, Standard 112
o High-water Buncomebe White
-Basic set of pottery tools-including sponge, needle tool, large loop, small loop,
knife, rib, and wire tool. Do not buy a bucket.
-I would recommend a plastic container with a lid to put scrap used clay in. It can be a reusable gallon container. (An old ice cream or coffee container will work nothing too large, middle in size.)

*Your emailed receipt is your confirmation for the class. If the class does not make, students who have already signed up will be contacted.*

*An annual $25 registration fee is required to enroll in monthly classes and private lessons. This fee is due one time per calendar year. The annual registration fee is waived for weekend workshops and Artist level members.*

Class will take place at the Shelby County Arts Council-105 West College St., Columbiana
