Intro to Digital Photography with John Pocopanni

 $160/month (4 sessions)

Tuesdays 4pm-6:30pm

So you finally got that awesome DSLR but you probably haven’t moved the dial from AUTO and all of
your photos look the same. Maybe it hasn’t even made it out of the box yet. Maybe you’re still
wondering was DSLR actually stands for. Regardless of whether you’re just starting out,
wanting a refresher, or wanting to take the next step to really make your images pop, this four
week intro class has you covered.

During this intro to digital photography class we will cover:
●What is a DSLR
● The basics of shooting in Manual
● F-Stop, Shutter Speed, ISO, Aperture and Depth of Field, Priority Shooting
● Field of View, Focal Length, Sensor Types, Cropping
● The importance of understanding light and how to manipulate it:
-Light Modifiers
-Lighting Temperature
-Lighting Angles
-Direct vs Diffused
● White Balancing
● Reading your histogram
● RAW vs. JPEG
● Composition, Rule of Thirds, Golden Ratio, Posing
● Focal Length and Distortion
● Studio and Location Shooting
● Photoshop Basics:
– Adjusting RAW images
– Image Resolution
-Working in layers
-Touching-up images

*An annual $25 registration fee is required to enroll in monthly classes and private lessons. This fee is due one time per calendar year. The class fee is waived for weekend workshops and Artist level members.*
