Students will learn how to make and finish a railroad spike knife. Each session will start with a demonstration of the project or process and examples of the finished piece will be shown. Students will need to bring leather-welding gloves and wraparound eye protection. Gloves and eye protection will be available for purchase for $10.00 on-site. Students will need to bring Gatorade or water for hydration. Students will also be taught to grind, brush and polish their forged pieces. The class will be limited to four students and the railroad spikes will be supplied. Forging classes are available for adults and students from 14 to 18 years of age that are accompanied by an adult.
Metal and finishing tools for the projects will be supplied.

*An annual $25 registration fee is required to enroll in monthly classes and private lessons. This fee is due one time per calendar year. The annual registration fee is waived for weekend workshops and Artist level members.*
