Advanced Sewing-How to Read a Sewing Pattern with Samantha Pursley




Have the basics of the sewing machine, but find sewing patterns confusing? Come make a skirt with us while learning how to read a sewing pattern. This class will teach you how to read through a sewing pattern with ease.
Week 1: Break down of pattern symbols and pattern terminology
Week 2: Pattern cutting layouts/cut out Pattern
Week 3: Marking Pattern/ Stitch Pockets and side seam of skirt
Week 4: Waistband of Skirt
Week 5: Belt of skirt and Hemming
Supplies needed for class:
3 yards of Cotton Fabric that has a Print. No solid colors please.
1″ wide non roll elastic
Sewing Machine
Sewing Pins
Spool of thread
Seam Ripper
Marking Pen or Chalk

*An annual $25 registration fee is required to enroll in monthly classes and private lessons. This fee is due one time per calendar year. The class fee is waived for weekend workshops and Artist level members.*
