2021 Statewide High School Juried Art Exhibit
On Sunday, April 25th the Shelby County Arts Council honored the students participating in the 2021 Statewide High School Juried Art Exhibit with a closing reception and awards ceremony.
2020 was supposed to be the first year the SCAC held the SHSJAE, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they were forced to go digital with a video tour of the exhibit and a live stream awards ceremony. The SCAC was more than excited to host the exhibit in the brand new Shelby County Arts Center’s EBSCO Fine Art Gallery. The participating students got to experience a professional level gallery show in a beautiful new space.
Judges for this year’s exhibit were Richard Gere from UAB and Lee Somers from the University of Montevallo. Read more about the jurors here.
The Shelby County would like the thank our sponsors of this exhibit, UAB’s Department of Art and Art History, the University of Montevallo’s Department of Art and the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama’s Caring Foundation!
Congratulations to all the students who participated in this show!
