Jerry Roldan has a BFA and MA in Art from the University of Alabama. He was an Associate Professor at Spring Hill College in Mobile Alabama, an Instructor at Faulkner College in Bay Minette Alabama, an Art Specialist for the Recreational Department of the City of Mobile, Co-Manager of the Art Instructional Center for the City of Mobile, and a member of the Educational Department of the Mobile Museum of Art. He has also taught classes at the University of South Alabama, Bishop State College in Mobile Alabama and the Eastern Shore Art Museum in Fairhope Alabama. Currently, he teaches courses at the Shelby County Art Center in Columbiana, Alabama.
Jerry was chosen by USA TODAY to be included in 100 top Regional Artists of US, featured on PBS television series ART TODAY segment A MAN AND HIS DRAWINGS, chosen for the New York World Fair 1964 as part of the National Drawing Exhibition sponsored by St. Johns College in New York, included in the South Eastern Exhibition of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta Georgia, and received first place in the Birmingham Festival of Arts.
He has a number of solo exhibitions including, Mobile Museum of Art, Spring Hill College, University of South Alabama, Mobile College, and Mobile Art Council in Mobile Alabama, Art Department of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa Alabama, Faulkner State College in Bay Minette Alabama, and Eastern Shore Art Museum in Fairhope Alabama.
His work is included in the perment collections: Time-Life Publications New York City, New York, Alabama Retirement System Building, Business Center of Alabama, Pearson Building in Montgomery Alabama, Bradford Health Care Facility, Medical College in Birmingham Alabama, Art Department, University Broadcasting Facilities in Tuscaloosa Alabama, and Battle House Renaissance Hotel, Mobile Arts Council grant for mural at the University of South Alabama Children Hospital in Mobile Alabama.
