Gallery Exhibits

 

January: Fine Folk Art III

Curated by Teresa Wamble, this annual gallery exhibit features many of the finest Folk Artists from around the state.  Artists include: Marian Baker (Oneonta),  Mary Ann Casey (Auburn), Jim Jones (Shelby, AL), Larry Stewart (Union Springs), Teresa Wamble (Calera).  Also in the exhibit is artwork by Shawn Wallace of Jenkin, Kentucky. The exhibit runs through February 25, 2017. 

Join us for the Opening Party on Friday, January 13 from 6-8pm. Food and Beverage.

 

Annual SCAC Instructor /Student Art Exhibit 

Opening Reception:  March 9 from 6:00-8:00pm 

Enjoy the art exhibit of work produced by the SCAC Instructors and Students.  Mediums will include Paintings, Drawings, Pottery, Photography and more.

The Shelby County Arts Council, in partnership with the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Art and Art History, presents the 2017 Statewide Student Juried Art Show. Ex

Liberty Day Gallery Exhibit:  Art as History 

Annual Adult Juried Art Show.  Special partnership between Shelby County Arts Council and the Shelby County Museum and Archives.  Sponsored in part by the Alabama State Council on the Arts. 

Opening Reception:  June 23, 2017 from 6-8 pm 

Gallery exhibit Dates:  June 23 through July 31, 2017 

 

The 4th  Annual SCAC Pottery Collectve Art Exhibit and Sale 

Members of the SCAC Pottery Collective join together to exhibit and sell their handmade, original pottery.  All members of the SCAC Pottery Collective has their roots in the SCAC Pottery Studio.  Beginning as students, many have gone on to teach classes and exhibit in retail establishments across the southeast.  

Opening Reception:  August 6, 2017 from 2-4pm

Nelson Grice and Friends 

Nelson Grice (Guest Instructor with SCAC) and Friends will present a Metal Arts exhibit.  Area artists will be creating works using various metal art techniques.

Edna Sealy Anniversary Solo Exhibit 

SCAC Instructor Edna Sealy Solo Exhibit.  Edna is a painting instructor and the Art Abilities Art instructor for the SCAC.  Her passion for art and teaching is evident in her work as well as the loving caring she shows each student.
